Home-Start began working in Australia in 1989, and now covers many areas, including urban, rural and remote regions where families are particularly isolated through distances and lack of services.

The Home-Start National organisation also provides training and Home-Start policies and procedures to all Home-Start staff throughout Australia to ensure Home-Start schemes maintain good practice and reflect the Home-Start ethos at all levels.
